The children have enjoyed playing with moon sand, making beaded bracelets, digging their hands into clay and digging up jewels in the sandbox. Playing in knee-deep bubbles has also continued to be a hit.
Inside, the children have enjoyed building cities out of blocks with one another, and then driving cars along little tape "roads" we've made in the nursery. It takes tremendous care to nimbly drive the cars through the block cities, but it encourages tremendous body and hand control. They have to slow down to carefully maneuver their cars. Another activity has been making forts under the kitchen table, encouraging children to slow down, duck, and walk. But of course it's just plain fun as well. |
